Information Fusion

Initially found under the Wikipedia entry for the Lottery paradox, I recall seeing a paper on data fusion and causality by Pearl et al, which had the notion of transportability. My feeling is that this field is highly relevant for machine learning. It relates to Stephen Krashen's thoughts on language learning, which emphasizes on the importance of Comprehensive Input, i.e. language input which is understood despite not fully understanding the actual structure.
